106. Tried and tested recipes!

I have always wanted to make a blog category about really simple, but good recipes I find online, I have tried and tested. And obviously have to taste quite good.

I guess the emphasize here is simple, good, tried and tested recipes.

But for now, here is my haven't-failed-me-yet muffin recipe!
I personally think it is one of the best muffin/cupcake recipe ever! And it is super simple to make!

Ingredients :
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  2. Stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. In a small bowl or 2 cup measuring cup, beat egg with a fork. Stir in milk and oil. Pour all at once into the well in the flour mixture. Mix quickly and lightly with a fork until moistened, but do not beat. The batter will be lumpy. Pour the batter into paper lined muffin pan cups
  3. Variations: Blueberry Muffins: Add 1 cup fresh blueberries. Raisin Muffins: Add 1 cup finely chopped raisins. Date Muffins: Add 1 cup finely chopped dates. Cheese Muffins: Fold in 1 cup grated sharp yellow cheese. Bacon Muffins: Fold 1/4 cup crisp cooked bacon, broken into bits
  4. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden.

The main reason about why I love my cupcakes/muffin is mainly because, there is almost n way you can go wrong with some new additional flavours to fit your personal taste!

For instance, the last batch I made, some had raisins, some had chocolate chips, some had while chocolate chunks, some had Oreo's in it, some even had Reese Peanut butter cups stuck in the middle of the muffins! And they all still tasted ridiculously good.

For easier recipe searching, I am going to call this tab, CookingWithLisa. :)

Out of curiosity, What is your favorite cupcake/muffin flavour?

105. What should we do today?

Besides going to Oslo, what should I do today? What will you be doing today?

It is starting to get a little bit cold these days. :(

I guess that also means that I should start considering putting my summer clothes away, and say hello unflattering bubble jackets. Maybe it is also about time I start hunting for some new winter jackets that doesn't make me look like a homeless hobo.

I am thinking, trench coats! But truth being told, bubble jackets is what's going to keep you warmmmmmm and cuddly. Those super stylish kind of things, are just going to make you look good, and fool yourself into thinking you are warm. :)

I'll catch up with you guys later!
Till then, stare at the cute baby. ♥

104. Pictures

I miss your camera Johanne :(
I miss clear focused pictures, wææææh!

Vanity. Point.

Been a while since I had Ben and Jerry's :(

This is called over-doing-it pose.

Necklace that I got from my aunt for my Birthday!

Refer to point above about the over-doing-it pose

When I get more pictures of you guys, there will be pictures of you too.
But till then, it would be just pictures of me. :) Haha!

So, as I was typing this blog post out, guess who decided to be über cute (as always) and pop by Bodung to give me my daily cuddle. :) And then he left. Honestly, how can there be someone be cuter and better for me?

And, A couple of days ago, he came by and loaned me his Dad's charger because mine is being a major bitch. And because he knew I wanted some Kinder Maxi, guess what he came by with?

I guess this is when you ask, so what if he isn't Mr. Darcy? 6 foot tall, Have got blue eyes, smart etc.

Oh wait, he is most of the above, just not Mr.Darcy. Surely he has flaws, who doesn't? But better than being Mr.Darcy, he is my Maggiekins :)

I don't usually like talking about Magnar, but since I am a tad mushy. Wtheck?

103.Jimmy Choo for H&M

#1.

Knee high boots I love! ♥
But surely, my legs aren't long enough. :(

Images were released a while ago, but here is the new collection of Jimmy Choo's for H&M.

I can't wait to check them out in stores but usually I am a little bit disappointed at the collaboration collections, because they usually are :

1. Not as nice as the couture collections.

2. Usually still rather pricey, though I guess this kind of shoes are bought for the name. As of right now, prices for shoes ranges from about 40 Euros - 200 Euros. That is still about 400 NOK to 2000 NOK (RM 200 to RM1000)
*Lazy to convert properly.

3. Chances of Jimmy himself who designs the shoes are not very high. (I suspect, its the design team, again refer to point about buying for names) But! personally I think some of his shoes are truly Omg-worthy. I love ♥

And, if you didn't already know, Jimmy Choo is a Malaysian. And comes from my hometown on Penang

*National pride* More reasons to want his collection even more!

He is one of the few Designer collaborations that I can't wait to check out!

#2

Can I say I love? Want!

#3

A bit too much for me.

#4

Nah, too regular looking.

#5

Oh, Love the whole studded look! Loveeee!

#6.

Peek toes! Yummm*

#7.

This one I absolutely love! ♥ (Hrm, where did I hear that before?) :)

But Omgomgomg! Want!

#8.

And it comes in flats too, I love flats!

*Hyperventilate! OMGWTFBBQDVDABCRIP!

#9.

Meh, next. :)

Jimmy Choo's line of bags and accesories :)

Price range about the same as shoes.

Personally, the bags I don't think they are Omg-worthy. Maybe I am just biased like that and thinks his forté is shoes.

102. Geocaching and Up!

Missing New York :(, because the less-than-demonic sister won't stop talking about it!
Missing America in general, I can go on and on about the things I miss, But I shall not.

I've made it a set plan that I am so going there again next year :
USA in general.
Definitely. Guess I gotta start saving!

We have already made a list of things that we should at least do this time around.

1. Never get a place in Brooklyn. Way too far out of town. Stay in Harlem instead!
At least you are still on Manhattan! And it really is an awesome place!

2. Put on proper clothes. Make-up, Shoes etc.
None of our pictures are nice because we didn't care too much about fashion, when we were in Fashion Capital *How embarrassing!

3. Save save save so we can do major shopping! Not like I didn't shop enough, but this time we are talking LV, YSL, Pucci, Gucci talk. You simply would not believe the sales they have on designer things!

Even my stingy sister says, it's a good buy, and spends like 1000USD shopping with me in God-damned-bludeh-Utica Mall. And she never buys things! I kid you not.

4. Have some Magnolia cupcakes. Friendly's Milk Shake, Lucky Charms, Oreos (Oh you know I cant stop).

5. Check openings of shops carefully, Tiffany and F.A.O we now know closes at 8 SHARP.

And the list just goes on.... I will make another post sometime :)

Fast forward to yesterday so I don't crave America! :)

Right, other than that, if you think the show Up is good, it is even better in 3D!
Might have cost us 130 NOK each, but it is Up! Awesome awesome! How can you resist the charms of a little boy and an old men discovering life journey's right!

Definitely a must watch, I am such a sucker for cute kids!

Have I already mentioned you should watch it in 3D! ♥

What else is new?

Oh, Munchkin and I have been going Geocaching yesterday (Click the link you lazy people, sheesh)

I love Geocaching, I think it has be one of the best cheap date ideas ever! Occasionally, free.
Basically, it brings you about the most random places on a hunt for little filled pandora boxes!

You never know what you might get! And every box is different!d And and! There is probably at least one in the city you are at! *Possibly. Check and find out!

So far, we found 3 and a half boxes. Looooong story... agitates me to talk about it, so I'll skip it. Breakfast time. Catch you guys later!

Song recommendation for today :)

Oriel Window by Enya.

Probably one of the most calming songs I've heard in a long time.
Purely piano music (And Yes, I have a serious thing for piano music) I was trying to look for a sheet music, but apparently that song is really hidden and stuff.

Oh Mr Shuffle, You do wonders, and thats why I love you.

*www.lisacheah.com is going to be up and running soon enough, once I get a hang of it a little more, I shall be moving my blog, yet again! :) Patience is virtue, no?
Well, not like anyone but myself care about a personal domain, but heyyyy!

101. Updates

Contradictory to myself on the previous post, and the fact that I kind of... uhm, missed my train. Here is my not so worthwhile updates anyway!

I dont know what to write thus, I shall tell you 10 things about myself that you might or might not already know.

1. I cannot stand eating fruits with seeds. No reason, no explaination. I just dont do it. Why would anyone?

2. I use to think I was relatively quite tall in person, till I moved to Norway. Now I claim I am just vertically challenged, no... it is not the same as being short.

3. I just have a thing for pretty dresses. If I could (and someday I will) spend half my life fortune on dresses.

4. I use sarcasm as my ultimate defense mechanism. Though, more often than not, people think I am being funny. Wtheck right? Sarcasm fail. Then people start laughing at my sarcasm they assume was a joke. Guess I am just funny like that.

5. I have a serious case of being a closet hopeless romantic. I am probably more romantic then Ill ever show.

6. Like many Asians I am allergic to alcohol. That certainly does not mean Ill stop drinking them anytime soon though.

7. I also have a tendency to think Scottish kids are uber cute, without knowing they are Scottish(part Scots) at first. As cute as this sounds... it is also annoying!

8. I would make vlogs to replace blog posts, but I cannot stand hearing myself on camera. So, no thank you.

9. I actually love to bake/cook, I dont think I am that good at it but, I like doing it anyways.

10. I also have a thing for food not touching each other on my plate. I like to eat all my food seperately. Like when I eat a hamburger, I like to finish the buns, then the patties. I truly believe it tastes better that way! :)

Guess 10 is enough for today!

I wonder if I can do a tag thing on this, I want to know the 10 (do 5 if you want :)) things I might or might not know about you! Yes, you!

Then email me, talk to me on msn, Facebook, Twitter. Or just do it on your blog post/comment form below!

Oh, and have you voted for my cow today?

099. Of Flowers and Football Tops

Marius and a weird hand sticking out.

I don't have mojo to blog today, unfortunately?. But I'll get to it, as much as I have been doing nothing much lately, I have also been doing quite a lot. Self contradictory, but you understand.

But, here is my song recommendation for today. Glasvegas is really climbing the ladders fast to becoming one of my favorite bands yet!
Well, you know it can't be that bad when Guardian allows it to be publish on their website.
*Clickable.

Well, when first I googled for the lyrics, I mainly just wanted to know what exactly are they saying behind all that accent. I never really thought about it having any meaning behind it. Though only to utter my surprise, it seems like it was highly related to the murder of Kriss Donald

It was a murder very racially driven, which aggravates me a little bit. A murder which I have actually never heard about. So, I learnt something new.

I also learnt that as a tribute, people usually leave Flowers and Football Tops. Thus explaining the title to the song.

Don't you love it when you learn something from songs! So, what's your song recommendation for me today?

098. Trafikalt Grunnkurs

As you might tell, I painted my nails red. I love them!
Why would I pass out of vain-ing opportunities like this right?

Now, Is Grunn spelled with one n or two n's?

Anyways, today is my last day of my 4 day Trafikalt Grunnkurs (Translation : Driving Theory?). Today would be the First Aid course! After that, I have completed 17 hours out of the compulsory 37 hours.

But,I doubt I will start lessons till somewhere about January next year, so the thought of a real license can wait.

Upon completion today, I am a "legal driver", as long as I am with someone over the age of 25, and has a drivers license for over 5 years.

Above all, the good news is, it also applies (and Yes, I've asked, not assumed) to International License's from Malaysia! And thus, meaning if my mum or dad was here, I can drive them around! Or anyone from Malaysia who bothered to go get an International License but too chicken to drive on a different side. I am at your service.

Though just a thought, it could be possible that it is scarier to sit under my driving then driving on your own? :)

Shhh, just shattap and let me drive.

097. Out of juice

If you haven't seen it on my Twitter.
This is the day I forgot I had tied my hair in a messy bun and fallen asleep with it.
So, yeah.

I am out of blogging juice lately. :(
Got to go jump of a chair later, so I can have something to tell you about.
I dont know if people wants to hear about my daily adventures of mushroom picking and how I got some new bedsheets. Thus I guess I shall spare them.

But on a happier note, www.lisacheah.com is up and running again. Guess that is good?
*Working to an extent that it redirects, "Oh Magnarboy..... Can you fix it?"

Since no juice, no blog material, I shall spam you with pictures of me! me! and me!
I was heavily considering the whole "take one picture of yourself a day for 365 days" project. Oh you know, those things you see on Youtube about people who have taken a self portrait shot over 2,3,4 years.

I mean, what better excuse do you need to vain? But "it's a project I am working on"
Haha!

The day I decided to pile on eye-shadow.

Even more pictures from Magnar's iPhone :)
We really didnt take any. Go figure

For you Johane, human accesories not included.
I was going to get one, but flying Ryanair means no additional baggage.
Though, if ever you are looking for more purple boxes, WHSmith is the place to be!

Want :)

095. Pictures

Pictures from long ago. But now that I have access to Magnar's computer. *Moohahaha!
I would update some very few pictures that we have from Scotland as well, if only iPhoto would work!

Bubbles! Bubbles and more Bubbles!

Photobooth Pictures

This would have been a really cute picture, if only I didn't drop a burning candle on Magnar's bed when I was trying to blow out my 'Birthday Cake' and gotten distracted by a camera!
But, we are all okay! :)

Yes, I am fully clothed. Its called a tube dress! :)
And, if anything the internet has thought me, is never post nude pictures of yourself, ever!
