Yonas Pizza, Tromsø

Tromsø! Land of the Northern Lights!

Some good ol' "home brewed" Mack beer. Tromsø is where Mack beer are brewed. Honestly, as a non beer drinker, I actually thought it was quite good. Worth a try.

 Yonas Spesial?
Normanna Pizza

Yonas Pizzarias and Catering,
Sjøgata 7, Tromsø
+47 77667777

Located right beside Radisson in Tromsø.

Overall, it was all right.
Pizza's were made fresh to order, I usually like a more "italian" crust to my pizza this was definitely thicker more American base.
They claim to have "special sauces" but I don't really I could differentiate it from any other pizza?
I did think they could have been more generous with the topping of the pizza.

Price (as you can tell) weren't too bad? But they were not cheap either (by my standards?) and you can clearly tell this was one of the hang
out places if you studied in the University of Tromsø!

If I were to go back again?
Probably not, if I find something else to try next time.

279. Indian!

I got invited to join "Kate & Co" for some Indian food at Agra restaurant over at Lillestrøm.
To celebrate Magnar being a "young scientist"

My honest review for that place?
It was effing fantastic!

I usually have very high expectations for Indian and Chinese food because, I like my Indian and Chinese to resemble those I taste back home in Malaysia.
And the ones in Norway usually don't taste as great.

But Agra is insane! Insanely good.
I am going to go as far as saying that it was probably one of the best Indian food I have ever tasted!

Unfortunately, we were being proper and didn't actually take any pictures.
But that just means, we could just use our imagination instead?

Anyways, completely recommended!
Om nom nom nom nom nom!

085. Guess we are on 15?

Magnarboy and I finally took a trip to Fratelli together yesterday. I think everyone has heard enough of me going on and on about how good the food at Fratelli is. Thus, I guess I shall spare the ramblings.

Give it a try!

Though, as much as I liked the Seafood Tagiatelle, it wasn't as good as my classic "#17"

And since, it's been a while since we went out for a Magnar-Lisa day, it was only appropriate?

In June I was in Malaysia. And I sent over a leprechaun to drop off Malaysian candy over at the Hjelmstad's postbox.
In July, Magnar was in Greece. Though apparently this 'other girl' gave him flowers.
It's now August.

Sometimes you look back, and realize how fast time flies! Wow!

Unfortunately this time, there was no pictures of the food, for one.. I don't think we can be bothered and secondly, the missing camera could also be a factor. *coughJohannecough*

Though, a word of advice if you want to dine at Fratelli, book a table beforehand. :)

Stolen off Magnar's Twitter.
I can explain my hair situation. Voluming shampoo, voluming spray, and curlers... Yeah, horrible!

After Fratelli. We went over to the cinema and caught Hangover.
It was a really funny feel good movie. I actually liked it a lot.

I guess we didn't do too much extra ordinary things, but I was with an extra-ordinary guy. And above all, I had an awesome time and even more memories to treasure.

Guess who's turning 19 tomorrow! *hintMEhint*

But today, I am satisfied.

053. Summertime

Insertcaptionhere

Although I have now gone over the aim of "Project 52", I suppose I really do enjoy penning my thoughts down on the web and thus shall continue to blog for a while more.

Its been a few days since I am home and really, I am throughly enjoying my summer vacation!
I am still hoping to somehow manage to get myself a job soon though! As much as I love waking up not having anything to do, my control-freak nature cannot stand when one doesn't have a somewhat plan. Not too much though, how is that called vacation right. I am still trying to find that balance.

Oh, did I also mention that I need the money as Mango is having a huge summer sale and I really want another charm bracelet soon! Haha!
So,yeah. I want a job! I want 3 jobs!

The past few days have been absolute bliss if we ignore the crazy sun burn I am having.
Days were usually spent lazing around the sun, with a good book and with some of my favorite people.

Yesterday, I have been lucky enough to be brought to Nebben for a swim.
In case, you didn't already know, that is where "The Boy"
(How I realize, I make him sound so heroic. But he truly is my superhero, because yesterday, only he can imagine concretes to be "monster droppings". Oh, don't ask)
It has been way too long since I have been swimming and it sort of brought back quite a bit of memories of the past. Performance wise I think I have degraded so much,it's quite expected. I wish I could still be confident enough to be able to swim 1600m, which was my favorite category yet. But I guess that time has past. :)

I shall not get emotional now. Haha!
Anyways, to get into Nebben we had to pay 60 NOK. Which to some extent is quite except able. It's the 5 NOK per ride on the slide thing that bothered me. I mean, as annoying as it is, I am sure many people pay to ride the slides. Me.
And since you already charge us to get in ... it's ludicrous.
Though, only way to avoid paying, get a job at Nebben! *stares in jealousy.

:)

In any case, after that adventure. I met up with Johanne and Marius and headed over to Fratellis by Lillestrøm torv. If there is one place one should try, this has to definitely be it. Its effing amazing! Food was so blu-deh good its crazy!

First I ordered some Tiramisu as I already had my dinner at the Hjelmstad's. But then I was tempted by the both of them, thus I got one of their filled pasta's. It wasn't ravioli or anything, it was just really good. Dessert before dinner, how nice.

Tiramisu

Insert fancy Italian word

Marius would say : Do not order pears. They don't go well with spoons.

The pictures really doesn't do the food justice. It didn't turn out as amazing as it tasted. Price wise, we paid 250 NOK each *coughandthe80NOKJohannemadeustipcough*
That includes main course and a desert. I would say that is quite all right really. Not something you do daily but occasionally its absolutely worth every penny!

Today was much simpler.
Basically spend some time in the sun waiting for a certain Boy to finish work.
Good book, sunshine, amazing view, cold drinks, snacks, and eventually a certain someone = bliss.

Spend hours just lazing in the sun reading The Diary of Ann Frank. So far, so good.
Another must read book this summer!

Oh-so-random picture. Freaking strange statue of Kate Moss right outside the Apple store. What eff? I am sure there is a symbolic meaning to this, but imagine just seeing this out of nowhere!

033. Banana Cake

My best Banana Cake :)

Well, incase you didn't know, Johanne and Me and (insert some other names) have been baking a bit a few days back. But that update shall come some other time, as I have yet to rob her of some pictures of the really delicious and ridiculously elaborate decorations. Oh, you will see soon.

Anyways, I figured I could publish out recipes that have yet to fail me and of course has to taste amazing. And being the total retard in the kitchen and if Lisa can do it, so can you!
Lets face it, how many of us can really come up with original recipes and expect it to taste really good right.

Right, today still hungover from all the baking, I decided the best way to cure it was to.. bake even more!

So, being the household that doesn't really bake very much or at all, we occasionally do not even have sugar lying about. So, baking is really such a hassle. Not mentioning the fact that everyone would rather just go out and buy a slice of cake, less cleaning up and apparently more economical in many ways.

A couple of days ago, in the attempts to be more healthy, the folks bought a bunch of banana's and they were starting to ripen too much to be eaten. I have this phobia of not wanting to eat banana's that look too ripe (getting black and what not). Its a paranoia so shhh!. So my genius self decided that we should make Banana Cake of it of course!

So, I like Google-ing things that have got "Simple" in it. Refer to paragraph about being an absolute retard in the kitchen. And, one of the first hits was this. Banana Cake Recipe
Don't bother clicking if you don't want too, I have copied and pasted it here already :)
And, I have even converted all the values to grams! I do not like when people don't follow measurements to fit my own measuring cup! :)

Banana Cake Recipe

Ingredients
4oz butter or margarine (115 grams)
6oz sugar (170 grams)
8oz self raising flour (225 grams)
(You need to remember to add some Baking powder if your using regular flour!)
2 eggs
2 large or 3 medium, very ripe banana's ( I use 4, there cannot be too much banana's right)

Method
1. Heat the oven to gas mark 4; 180C
2. Grease a 2lb loaf tin
3. Mash the bananas with a sturdy fork
4. Cream the butter and sugar together
5. Mix in the eggs together the two yellow sludges you now have
6. Mix in the flour.
7. Scrape into the loaf tin and bake for 40 minutes then lower teh temperature to gas mark 2; 150C and cook for a further 30 minutes.

Everything really is simple enough. So I gave it a try and it tasted amazing. In my version, I added a couple of tablespoon of honey and some nuts in it for texture. Then once it was out of the oven, I glazed it with even more honey to give it a shiny looking surface. :)

Right, in all fairness because I baked it, it has to be The Best Banana Cake ever. And its simplicity is my favorite part because its almost a no fail recipe I would think. And if it does fail, then... Haha! *walks away with a cute motion*
