Radisson Blu, Edinburgh

Our humble abode in Edinburgh.
Radisson Blu, Royal Mile.

Price : Roughly 80 GBP when booked with advance booking. And about 15 GBP for parking for a day.

Overall I think people that book this hotel probably do it because it is located right in the heart of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Though if you were to honestly ask me if it was worth the money, I would probably said No.

If ever I was in Edinburgh again, I would no doubt book a hotel on Princes Street (The Balmoral? Ramada? Hilton?) instead as I do feel that there is more happening across the street (literally)

Edinburgh is quite small that more often than not, people should just walk.

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time there. Sheets were clean, pillows were aplenty, available parking at a fee (if you rented a car like we did), relatively quiet.

It's just that there wasn't really any view out of the windows, room were sub-par (nothing WOW-ing) for it to claim a 4 star status. I understood that part of my Terms and Condition for an "Advance Booking" was not being able to pick the bed types and room's but being a cheap that I am, for almost 100 Pounds I sort of expected a little bit more.

If you are planning on traveling to Edinburgh on a Shoestring, I highly recommend http://www.smartcityhostels.com/ which is cheaper and lies right beside Radisson Blu.
I was there quite a while back but from reviews it still isn't to bad!

And if I wanted to splurge a bit I would either choose The Balmoral or Hilton or Ramada
(all of which lies in the same price category really if you do your research ahead of time)

Filling Station, Edinburgh

 Breakfast Diners

Pots of tea I missed.
I miss having tea in many knick knacky cups and saucers!

Eggs Benedict on Rolls

Scottish Breakfast, complete with Blood Pudding and Haggis.

I remembered this place only because, little known to us people in Edinburgh don't eat breakfast that early.

Could be the effect of last night's partying if you ask me?

We were out and about town looking for a good place to have breakfast only to find out most stalls over at The Royal Mile (High Street?) will not be opened till at least 10 a.m. :( That actually including breakfast stalls! So if I were you, I would have slept in.

This was one of the first that opened, and overall it was good. And it was all rightly priced? It We were hungry and ultimately, it was just breakfast.

302. This is where I want to be.

Sometimes I wonder, how can you not love Norway?

Now, I just have to find myself a hiking walking buddy *CoughMagnarCough*
I think this beats going anywhere else in Europe. *CoughMagnarCough*

With views like that, how can you not want to keep on living, learning, discovering?
Knowing the world, has so much more for you to see.

Pie, can we go?
You're the only one I know stupid enough and patient enough!

265. Skiing, or attempts

Yeah, most of my attempts are of me, falling.
No really, every turn, every corner.

Well fine, I am not that horrible (or I would like to believe). I did make it down once or twice without falling!
But, relatively quite a klutz.

"Thats me going, Stop taking pictures! You silly boy!
I want nice ones!"

But oh well... Haha!

It is awesome fun anyways!
I really did have a lot of fun. Like all things in life, if you fall, stand up, and try again.
Try it till it kills you, I guess. :)

Personally I cannot imagine myself, actually liking doing it, but skiing is definitely growing on me.
I can see how if one can ski, it can probably be quite fun :)

Unfortunately, skiing season is starting to come to an end. Maybe i'll try again next year.
Or maybe, Magnarpie.. want to go again, say... tomorrow?

264. Osloooo

Enough of just me yet?
Wait, I add some pictures of other people too! :P Just got carried away a little bit there!

Lazy already, more pictures on Facebook!
Though, Sorry.. I don't accept random adds :(

Well, a couple of us met up earlier last week for some touristy Oslo.
What is there to say really, besides it was really fun :)
We visited FrognerParken, The Opera House, The Castle, United Bakeries (When did this become a tourist attraction? :P), and Aker Bryggae?

Then most of us headed over to the Hjelmstad's for dinner.
Mmmmmmmm, om nom nom nom!

261. Karlstad!

Teen Vogue on sale!
Vogues are honestly, more advertorials then essence.
It's a fun read nonetheless though

Good way to spend some time.

Anyways, Karlstad is, small.
There is no more than 3 streets of shops and well, they arent too great.
Uncle say it is like a smaller version of Drammen, Norway.

So, yesterday we were first at a horrid Malaysian restaurant for lunch who overcharges the food they "claim" to be Malaysian, really isn't. Pfft.
Completely hates it when that happens.

Then we went for a drive around the area, bought some groceries, and came back to the hotel for some dinner.

Then my Uncle and I went to watch the Green Room with Matt Damon at the SF Kino!
SF Kino here is below mediocre, and since I have also been playing in the bubbly hot tub earlier and is completely relaxed, I couldn't stay awake! But, if I can't stay awake, maybe the show wasn't too great either?

Oh, And this stuff really works!
Completely not recommended if you intend to watch a late night show.

Right, I guess that was really it for yesterday. Today I am going to sit in the hot tub again, and then Uncle is taking us shopping. Well, because I don't know what else is there to do here? :)

Will be home to Norway later. :)
I miss my Bolster already.

259. On Vacation!

I'll be on vacation for a day! :)
We are going off to Karlstad in Sweden for a lazy day out. We'll be back Monday!

I predict loads of relaxation and pure random indulgence. Mmmm.
Can't wait.

I have always wanted to take a weekend away, heck I have also always wanted to just go to Oslo and stay at a hotel for a night for I personally think its one of the best bliss moments we can reward ourselves with.

So yeah, awesomes.
Shall blog later :)

252. A date with Magnar

I dont know if words could really tell the adventures of the day, so maybe this is when people say, Pictures are worth a thousand words.

First we went to the new Norwegian ski jump Holmekollen. We didn't expect that there will be any even there, but little did we know..
We had to park a half hour away. On the top of a hill.

This is the not so exciting part, walking up to the car again. A 2.8 km walk uphill
I think the funny bit was Magnar going "Would some chocolate make you happy?"
And tadah. He pulled up some chocolate! I did feel better for about 2 minutes.

Kvikk Lunsj, ftw.

Then we headed over to Teknisk Museum over at Kjelsås!
I love that place! So much stuff to play around with!
Definitely a new must visit for tourist in Norway.

It does say I could climb on the dino!

I never past an opportunity to ride dinos!

Then the museum had to close :(
So we went to a mountaintop somewhere and had probably one of the best view of Oslo city there is!
Breathtakingly, gorgeous.

We were there just when the sun was setting. Weather wasn't at all bad. For me at least.
(Well, I did have Magnar's jacket, because like he say... I don't like using my own jacket)
But it was just so picture perfect. I haven't seen Oslo that nice ever.

Then we got home, had dinner and watch Food Inc. :)

I really dont know what to say about my weekend.
Yesterday has just been so awesome! I had a massive ton of fun and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I always ask anyone who I assume knows, what love is?
Everyday, I think I might just be one step closer to finding that out.
