248. Music Plug

Hows everyone today?
I got bored of talking to my Sister so, here I am. Haha!

Have I told you already how funny that idiot is. She was preaching me her capitalistic ideologies again I got tired of listening, I went out to play with some fire crackers instead. Somehow I feel that firecrackers has a due date on them? Do they?

Anyways, I was grooving into James Morrison today and I realize, every single song he has is about love. Ugh! Cannot stand. But he sings so gorgeously, I cannot resist.

If You Dont Want To Love Me, James Morrison

247. Music Plug

Quelqu'un m'a dit, Carla Bruni

Soundtrack from 500 Days of Summer sang by the ever so famous Carla Bruni.
Is anyone of you as surprised as I am that its Carla?!

She sings so gorgeously. I am utterly impressed. :)
Definitely worth listening to!

246. Weeeeekend!

So, as you might have already read on my Twitter. I had an absolutely fantaboloustic day yesterday!

Early in the day involved ripping off wood panels and taking down cabinets and shelfs in the room downstairs. We are renovating it before the folks arrive later in June! So in some ways that was quite fun.

Oooh! Then I helped my uncle sell these.
And there are people who called within 30 minutes of putting the ads out!

http://www.finn.no/finn/bap/object?finnkode=21323141

They were my uncles pride and joy but sadly the new room doesn't have a space for them. :)

Then, I went over to see Magpie because it was our ... (I honestly am not good with numbers anymore)
Oh right, 22 monthnivarsary? Wow pie, its been almost 2 years since. :)

Magnars feet and Me.

So, plan was I was going to go get some sushi because well, I love my sushi.
And how did I know, that the Hjelmstads were also going to go out for sushi, and thus my dinner for two idea became, Dinner with the Hjelmstad's at the "Sushi Bit" :)

Picture from Magnar's Twitter (He could have bothered to take a better picture surely)
(Oh, to make things clear, I don't mind because they are quite awesome)

So, I thought that was an awesome day itself. When I got home I found out my sister got into some seminar thing in the USA and wondered if I wanted to go along this summer! For obvious reasons if she go, I have to go too, because I am awesome and due to my sister's obvious lack street smartness. :)

So, the idea is if she goes I go too! And the fact that she is already here in Norway when she is supposed to leave.

I have been missing the US! Though as much as I would like to get excited. I really have to figure some things out first, as I was really really really really intending to get a summer job.

And since mummy and all is coming this summer, we already had a lot of prior plans!
*CoughParisCough*

Oh, that and that idiotic sister of mine is supposed to be in Norway till October anyways. So we need to figure out her tickets and etc.
So, I'll wait with the excitement for a little bit.

How how how how how?

(Did I also mention that my sister has invited Tor to apply for it too and he might be joining us) Bah, guess we shall see how this all turns out. Wee!

245. Home Remedies

So, I have decided for the sake of it, I am going to put myself up as a human guinea pig for trying out home remedies for hair care.

Dont you think this might just be a brilliant idea? And a quite stupid one all in the same time?

Well, there are quite a bit reasons for why I want to try this out.
And ironically it all started today!

Basically, I ran out of hair conditioner since my hair shampoo to hair conditioner ratio is usually 2:1. I always run out of conditioner way before I run out of shampoo. (I truly blame this on my daily hair wash and the length of my hair)
So, I thought if only I can find a way to cut cost but still somehow manage to get a healthy looking hair, why not try it?

And this unfortunately means, "Home remedies"As they usually are "ingredients" you can easily steal of your parents/aunts kitchen. Therefore costing = close to nothing.

So, maybe for the next month. I am going to test out one famous home remedy a week and I guess we shall see if it makes a difference.

I was so eager to start on what my mum swears by in order to achieve shiny locks, Coconut milk as a substitute for conditioner. But living in the Asian household I do... we never have spare coconut milk lying about, so I guess I will just have to wait till tomorrow comes.

Hrmph. My aunt's curry is such a motivation damper.

Oh, if you have a "suggestion" or wondered if something might or might not work, feel free to write me an email, drop a comment for I might take your suggestion into consideration and be your human guinea pig!

I wonder how long I can hold out before I succumb to the corporate world of Tigi Bed Head Oatmeal and Honey Shampoo and Conditioner.

Go Outside, The Cults

(Btw, if you like them they are offering a free download of their album on http://cults.bandcamp.com/)

I didn't think their other two songs were as great, but no harm adding the occasional new music to the ever expanding library right :)

243. Untitled

When I was younger, I always wondered why are there age limits to some movies and games and what nots. My excuse was simple. My parents didn't exactly put a "limit" to what my sister and I can or cannot watch. And with that being said, I have always felt that I grew up okay?

I guess in some ways, we are all different. I grew up liking comedy sitcoms, loads of Disney and every imaginable cartoon.I also enjoy watching Oprah and loads of Cantonese Drama series. Even when my parents (as I said) didn't really control what we watch.

But, I have also always thought that was the case for many others.

Then lately, I have been reading about the case of James Bulger. The 2 year old boy who was brutally murdered by 2 other 10 year olds. And their method of killing him is simply unfathomable.

And, lately I've been reading how (if I haven't misinterpreted the news) these crimes might have been link to how these 2 children were allowed to watch numerous horror films while his mother smoked illegal drugs.

I am not here to discuss how or if these kids should be punished and how the should be punished appropriately. Or who should be the one held responsible for the doings of these boys.

I was just thinking and realizing that sometimes those age appropriate limits should not be taken so lightly after all. Because that freedom in the wrong hands, is just not okay.

Children sometimes only know so much. It is the responsibility of the adults to sometimes step in and create a limit.

242. So help me understand

So, help me understand something.
Lately I have been applying for more and more summer jobs so I know I will make some spending money this summer and not to bum around like I always do for months.

So, writing the applications itself aside. I really really really don't understand why we need to give in a picture of us alongside some of the applications.

Why? Can they not hire ugly people or something?

Because, help me understand this, when they say they want a picture of us alongside the applications, what kind of picture do they want from us exactly?

Example:
1. One with loads of background image?

2. One that shows I have got some amount of friends?

3. One that shows that I can pretend to be cool when needed?

4. One that shows I am willing to make a fool of myself to see someone else smile?

5. One that shows that, when needed I can result to using my sex appeal?

6. One that shows, I am in some ways quite in tune with all sorts of weird products.

7. One that shows that I can sometimes be quite funny?

8. One that show that I sometimes have genius ideas you should know about?

9. One that shows, I can pretend to be brainstorming for ideas?

10. One of the bunch where pictures are only suited for passports.

So do they want a black and white, coloured, pretentious smile, real smile, overly made up, au natural, with poses, no poses, with background, no background, cute, not cute, funny, not funny?

What kind of pictures do they want?
Someone, enlighten me. Please.

On my last application, I choose to give them... this.
How can you not love that stoopid face!

No, really. What kind of pictures do they want?

241. Another point?

Can I add one more point to my March resolutions?
I think I have hold on to the IB for a bit too long now, it is time to finally start letting go.
*Cue emo music.

And this means, getting rid of this (somehow still existing) pile of IB notes and notes and more notes.
Somethings even I don't know why I wrote them in the first place or what class it could be from!

I truly believe, for every IB student, one must have used up quite a significant portion of the forest in search for that one Diploma certificate.

10,000 sheets of paper for one Diploma.
Hrm, IB system can be so smart sometimes, no?
And there are about 70 thousand students doing the IB?

And it really is just another piece of paper.
Not that amazing anyways.

As I was saying, though I already gotten rid of a few boxes of paper about a year ago, I somehow still so many more scrap papers lying about!

For some reason, I like holding on to the IB.

Maybe it was because it was one of the best times I have had. That and because the books are effing expensive when I bought them!
And I could sell them online, but every once a year, I secretly do go back to them to revel in their mystery and whatever memories they hold.

All those little stupid scribbles meant a time in the past that I don't really want to put behind yet.

But I know, I must. :(

So yeah, I made a new commitment to getting rid of all this clutter and focus on whats ahead of me. Finally no longer as a high school student.

I really like this stoopid looking face. Haha!
Just had to post it again. :P

240. A funny feeling

As I was talking to Sharanna yesterday about possibilities of her coming here to Norway this August for my birthday. It hit me, omfg. I am turning 20.

Its not even funny how the big 2-0 is... old.
Ill be as old as, almost everyone I know!

And, It is almost like I am soooooo not ready for it.
Am I suppose to act more adult like?
Should I not be so playful?
Am I suppose to speak eloquently?
Should I talk politics all the time?
Am I going to have to start knitting to kill time?
Will I have to start living alone with 20 cats? :(

Pause : Picture break.
Hehe, your worst nightmare.

Pippi Longstocking inspired hairstyle.

Ola Amigo!

Mmmm.

Rawr rawr rawrrrrr!

Passport picture pose. Smile.
*Ckkk* (wtf, how does the sound of a picture being taken sounds like?)

Now, when you turn 20,
Can one not watch Spongebob ever again? :(
But, I loooove Spongebob.

Okay. *Smacks self in head*
Magnar is also twenty, and doesn't always seem like he has changed at all.
And my Sister is, 243212 and she still watches Spongebob. Sleeps with her smelly bolster, has my mother waking her up, and Dad probably still buys breakfast. :P

I guess, turning 20 wouldn't change anything?
Tell me it wouldn't so I don't freak out!

239. Updates

Hellosies!
First of March, dateline for Norwegian Uni applications!
I have been down this road, 3 times now... Third year.
And I still don't effing know.

Sometimes, I feel like I should have just gone into a liberal arts college in America and get a degree in Arts and Science! Then I would have learnt a lot of different subjects. And I wouldn't be thinking about this all the time.

Well, too late for that now.

Though, I have decided that no matter what I get into, I would stick with it.
Screw me if I hate it. Right!
Because, If I go bopping around, I would never ever finish!
And we don't want that right!

Taa!
